I got it into my head that I wanted to work on something new. So I fired up putty, got my test script ready, and moved over to my working area. Next I made a couple os simple additions to ranttest to track variables and make sure that I am going where I need to. Then I decided that my test user's page was ugly so spent the next 3 hours working on a new setup for him... almost forgetting what I was doing. After getting back to the work at hand, I got a little headway in. Ok, technically I am farther than I expected to be even if I had not had the aside with style, but it still needs some work. It also made me realize that I hate what I am doing with polls, so I am going to get rid of them until I change everything. I really don't know what I was thinking when I thought up the design. I mean, I am fairly dumb, and I admit that. But wow, this is bad in retrospect. I think before I roll out the next complete makeover of rantfest I am going to invest a few hundred hours reading about database design and implementation...which I should have done before building this massive page. Oh well.

Your brain (and rants) are so massively complicated when it comes to computer stuff. You seem to really enjoy all the toying around though, that's for sure. :)

I just came to read the comments on your latest post and noticed that although I allow cookies from your site, my Author/Homepage info is not in place again. Is this due to the current ripping out of the polls? Is it database related somehow?

But I don't know how the kids would go for it. It's sausage and spaetzle in brown gravy with carrots and asparagus (or green beans) on the side. Maybe biscuits? The husband's right: maybe that's why we suck as a host. ^_^
