Every once in awhile I run through my bookmarks and realize that I have a huge amount of shit in my bookmarks and decide I need to clean it out. And everytime I run into a couple of gems that I think my loser listeners would like, so here we go.

• http://sfwa.org/writing/strategies.html - Ok, so this one is funny seeing as how I am unemployed and have not spent more than an hour doing anything constructive in longer than I would like to admit.

Writing

I like the writing strategies page, especially this idea: Binge! Gear up for a major writing weekend. Get your ideas ready, set a goal, and plan to work every waking hour until you're done. Cook meals ahead of time and freeze them so you can just nuke 'em and keep going. Tell your friends you'll be out of touch. Turn off the phone ringer and put a message on your answering machine telling people to send the cops if they really need to talk to you that bad. Lock yourself in your study and don't come out until you've committed fiction. I think it would be cool to do a collaboration some evening... since we all have these artistic/creative talents floating around. Call it a "write-in" or a "draw-in," kind of like a lock in. We pick a topic, we figger out a way that each person can address it (one person could write copy, one person could illustrate, one person could ink) and set the goal that by the end of the night, we want to have a certain number of pages done. Kind of a crazy idea, but it could be a lot of fun and actually get all of us somewhere with our art. "I make drawing FUN!" --Strongbad
