So, I was all happy with the RCM update last night. Then I was talking to Dave and he pointed out some flaws that were showing up on his setup. All of the FireFox ones seemed unique to his machine, but I had the Internet Explorer ones to a much lesser degree. Of course, I am also using thebeta version of IE, and he is using IE6. Then again, I always expect issues in IE when I have a properly coded page. So after an extreme amount of effort, I finally broke down and set up all my forms using tables instead of CSS. The forms seem to be much happier that way. I still have an error in the right column if I have comments in IE, but it does not detract from functionality and is only visible if you scroll to the bottom of that column. It will be fixed, but probably not too soon.
Voting has been added now. It will be interesting to see peoples take on how I did it. It is kinda ghetto and clever at the same time, so I am expecting negative responses to it. Basically, I have a box with 5 stars on it, the stars fill left to right depending on the score, and to vote you just click the appropriate star. Nothing much to it.
I also wanted a way to see what comics had comments without actually sifting through them. There is already over 100 comics and it can't get smaller so that would be annoying. So now the dropdown highlights the comics with comments and show how many comments have been posted to it. While I don't think this is enough, I do like the change. I have a minor rewrite in planning that will change the look and add some more info to the page. It will kinda be abandoning the KISS idea of the page, but I think they make sense given what the page is. I doubt these additions will happen within the next week, but they are coming.
I might get around to doing the Profiles thing after DnD tonight. Not really sure. I do know that I have a change in mind for how the url/email/password update is set up and while it should not be too difficult to make, it could mess a lot up if it goes wrong. :)
