I updated to the latest version of the Twitter API and now I am getting updates from other people instead of my own...which is what I want. Yay!
UPDATE: Think I might have found a way around the problem. I am using the "optional" arguments which are technically supposed to be used for other purposes to force things in. Lets see if that will continute to work or if it is just pretending to right now.
