The wife and I hit LGT to visit the families today. Her family had a full compliment of blood relatives (plus me, I guess) and my family was us and the parents. Great fun by all, yada yada...not why I am posting. I am posting because something awesome happened today, and it just hit me a few minutes ago.
Katie's eldest has recently decided to pick up Dungeons and Dragons. At one point today, Katie, the wife, the eldest, and I were in one of the bedrooms watching Katie paint and discussing DnD when she asked her son what class he was favoring. He answered Ranger, to which she playfully gasped Uh, that's your father's favorite. While I don't know if Greg has ever played DnD, in EverQuest, EverQuest 2, StarWars Galaxies, and I am pretty sure in 90% of his fantasies, Greg plays a ranger (or is a ranger in his fantasies). How perfect and meta is it that on his first sojourn into the mystical world of heroes, fantasy, and villians that the eldest son would choose the life his father did...and his mom would disapprove?
