More to do... - Stories - NaNoWriMo
Posted on: 2009-12-03 16:03:59

Amusingly, as I fired this up and started typing, the NaNo group sent out a tweet, basically I Wrote A Novel, Now What?.

I haven't written a word on my story since NaNoWriMo, which, I know, is only two days ago. But it just feels weird. I didn't finish my story, there is still a lot more to go. I need to finish so I can worry about what's next. So, I think I am going to keep going and set some new goals for the month. I am shooting for 100k, which is only another 40k, but I know I have some rewriting to do (like the first 4 chapters), and I am sure there will be more I don't know about yet. Also, since I have only really written on Gibson's, I want to finish it up before I move on to Anne's. Then I want to reread it and see how much it stands alone, if there are any glaring errors, and see how much work it needs before moving on and giving Anne's part my undivided attention. Basically, Gibson's story has already drifted enough that I am questioning the ending in my head, and if it changes any more, I will need a new ending.

Also, eventually, I need to get back to the original story. This is a sequel to the story I failed to finish from my first NaNo attempt. While the story and characters have grown both in my head and on paper (or text), I still need to flesh that story out more and finish it. Add to that I already have ideas fluttering around in my head for a third story...I may never finish any of this stuff. I suppose as long as I am enjoying the process that isn't so bad.
